'A wonderful character, an ideal rabbit to start with'.

The Miniature Lop Rabbit is known as the Holland Lop in the USA. The Miniature Lop is a small rabbit weighing a maximum of 3lb 8oz. It has a short, broad and well muscled body with little visible neck. It's chest is broad and deep with broad and strong shoulders. The front legs are thick, short and straight, the hind legs are short, strong and powerful. The coat is dense and of good length, roll back with an abundance of guard hairs. The legs, foot pads and ears are well furred. The head is bold and broad, the profile being strongly curved with a good width between the eyes, full cheeks and a broad muzzle. The eyes are bold, bright and large. There is a well developed crown with broad, thick ears which are rounded at the ends and carried close to the cheeks (BRC Breed Standards)
The combination of it's small size and good nature makes this breed appealing to both pet owner and those interested in breeding and showing alike. And because they can be shown in any recognised colour or pattern, they provide a challenge to anyone interested in colour genetics…

Colour genetics has been a passion of Kim's since we began breeding and exhibiting rabbits.
Kim started developing the chocolate varieties in Miniature Lops with a Lilac Otter Buck called Galium. Over time we came to concentrate on the Chocolates rather than the lilacs through choice as we prefered the richness of the colour.

'The Miniature Lop Rabbit is a compact friendly and inquisitive breed. It was Kim's pleasure to work with Lea Fletcher on developing and subsequently standardising the Chocolate Tortoiseshell rabbit in this breed.

We love all the chocolate varieties, although we are just as in love with the black otter today as  when we first laid eyes on one in 1996'.

With the help of our close friend and mentor Daren Morris we are back in the fancy after a 6 year gap and so looking foward to working with these old colours.....and just maybe some new ones ;)

The Miniature Lop

27/7/14 - Our latest addition to the rabbitry :) meet Hugo Blue our Blue eyed white buck from our good friend Daren...hopefully babies in the future :)

28/4/15 Finally we have bews and splits arriving in the shed...these 3 are keepers for us :)

20/06/2016 I have just seen the last date for follow ups with the Miniature lop so do apologise but with the Lutino's taking up our time we have not kept the rest of the page upto date :)

Anyway just to let people know we have 3 main colours in the shed...the BEW's, the Chocolate Torts...and the Lilac Torts (when they start popping up in the nests lol) other colours due to genetic makeup of our lines still turn up in the odd litter (we still have cinnamons, oranges and splits) but as each line progresses we will see less and less of these popping up :) I will take some photos to bring us up to date as soon as possible :)
